any 'amanda' users out there?...need tips

Hello everyone.

Well, I have setup and installed a new SCSI card and HP 5 tape autoloader backup machine for our network. It is currently connected to our samba server and will be soon backing up our data.

However, I am in the process of trying to decide between two types of software:

Amanda
and
Tapeware

I was curious if anyone has experience with amanda? My boss seems to want to implement Amanda as the backup system, but it is not etched in stone.

If anyone has some advice or recommendations on Amanda, I would very much like to hear it.

Thanks everyone.

There was an article about amanda in the SysAdmin magazine last year. They have a copy of it available at the following url.
