An introduction to the Linux Logical Volume Manager

Hi,

An introduction to the Linux Logical Volume Manager
Quote:

Logical Volume Manager (LVM) helps you manage your storage better by introducing a layer of abstraction over your storage hardware. When you're freed from hardware limitations you can use more than one storage device for a volume or partition. You can also resize volumes dynamically and create snapshots for restoration points.

Onebuck, thanks once again. My collection interesting articles is growing thanks to your links.

It would be nice when you or someone else creates a blog page with all those links, and put the link to the blog in your signature. That would really be helpful. Even for those who know how to use Google it is sometimes easier to have a small amount of useful documents instead of 400,000 hits. And what you post is often more than a how-to, but profound background information.

Glad the articles are useful! Look at: Links for Helpful Linux articles & books sticky. Plus SlackwareŽ-Links was started to provide a means to provide useful Slackware & Gnu/Linux links for new and old users. As I say; SlackwareŽ-Links! More than just Slackware Links.

Personally, my days are filled with current activities therefore a blog for me would be a hindrance. One reason my participation here at LQ is to help others to learn and hopefully have fun doing it. :)

I never saw that sticky before (I browse this forum almost always by View Latest Posts) but that sticky is fully adequate and covers what I had in mind. Thanks!
