Ambiance-like Xfce theme?

Hi,

I like Ubuntu's default GNOME ambiance theme (mix of a dark/light theme, circular buttons; close is red) but I'm struggling to find something similar for Xfce. Has anyone come across something similar? I thought Xubuntu would use a similar theme, but it doesn't.

Thanks

You can install a standard GTK theme in Xfce. As far as I can tell, themes are DE-agnostic.

Found with a quick google search: "install gtk themes xfce".

Ambiance is a GTK+ theme, not a "GNOME theme". Xfce also uses GTK+.

Maybe it's not a GTK theme I'm after then, but an Xfwm theme (just the title bar).

OK, then it won't work, unless:
  • You find an Xfwm theme that imitates Ambiance
  • Use Metacity instead of Xfwm (but still use Xfce) and use the original theme.

That's what I'm trying to do, find something similar. I've searched xfce-look.org and haven't found something that looks as good. I've given up and moved on.

I made and Ambiance Xfwm4 theme for myself, and then remembered this thread, so here it is:
Attached Files
File Type: txt Ambiance-Xfwm4.tar.gz.txt (11.2 KB, 67 views)
