mandriva le2005
creative sb live ls sound card

When ever I go into alsa mixer and change the master volume or mute it the back audio doesn't change, generally it's ok because I have a knob to change the volume(It's a pot between the sound card and the speakers). but I am now using my computer as an alarm clock and I want to just have music play while I sleep then have the volume get loud when It's time to get up. but the back audio doesn't change and they are my loud speakers.

EDIT: I use "aumix -v 100" to change the master volume up with kalarm, I don't need help with that, I need my back audio to change, alsamixer and aumix don't work

Have you done a "alsactl store" as root to store the sound settings?

I don't get how that effects the back audio not muting when I mute the master volume but I'll try it
