alpha blend transparent KDE windows?


Is there a setting for this or do I need to install software to do this?

True alpha blending (so you can see other windows/icons etc through the terminal) is not yet available on Linux and won't be for at least another 3-4 months. Even then it will be some time before it's high performance enough and widespread enough for realistic usage.

However, latest KDE CVS can use X compositing when it's available to get that effect, so you just need to keep upgrading your distros and the feature will eventually become available to you.
