Adjust mouse speed

All,
I just hooked up a brand-new Kensington 5-button optical USB mouse. It's great, hotplug detected, all 5 buttons work, everything..but it's the fastest mouse I've ever tried to use. The pointer zips across the screen at the least movement of the mouse.
I know I can adjust this in Windows *wince*, but how do I do it in Linux?

Thanks

Nevermind - answered my own question.
Code:
xset m 12 60
sets it at a comfortable "I feel like it's only moving when I tell it to" speed (lower numbers for the 3rd parameter speed it up, higher make it move slower. ...12 2 is unusable, ...12 100 is sluggish.)

Edit: Sorry Artanicus, I didn't refresh the page before I posted again, so I didn't see your answer. Thank you!
