add/remove programs list invalid

any tab i try and click on in the add/remove programs application returns a message saying that "the group list was invalid" - further details states that the "comps categories could not be loaded". This happens on every tab - has anyone had this before?

To get any help you need to provide useful information such as the name of distro, name of software and probably the name of package manager.
Without that anyone will be clueless.

thanks - i'm running fedora 9 x86_64. its the add/remove software application that i'm having trouble with.

i've also had selinux daemon troubles that are unresolved but i don't know if thats related - i know that the application seems to need to gather information form the internet which i don't altogether like but at the moment the application doesn't work so i carn't see what has been installed or not or remove stuff!

all sorted! - fresh installation and I had to refresh the cache................
