Additional Boot Script

I have a quick question. I have a script I wrote that I would like to run every time my system boots up, but I need to run it as root (it consists of three or four commands necessary to use some of my hardware). My only problem is that I don't know where to place it.

Is there a script that runs in root mode at boot that I could simply modify or should I add the script to the /etc/rc5.d directory?

Thanks.

there are a couple of files that run each boot /etc/rc.local normally being the best bet for what you want. you can quite easily create a proper rc script for it, but it's not a service as such, so that wouldn't be that conventional
