ACPI, USB, PCMCIA Kernel conflicts

I've been working on this problem for weeks now.

When I compile the kernel with ACPI support, my USB and PCMCIA no longer work properly. I've tried a number of distrobutions, only to find out this was a kernel problem. They're all put on the same IRQ.

I'm using a Wireless card that is supported in Linux. Before I put ACPI in the kernel it worked and so did USB hotswap. After, the Wireless card is still found, but doesn't work. The USB device I put in can work if it's in when the kernel loads, but I can't put it in after.

On Slackware, after adding ACPI the sound doesn't work either.

My BIOS does not assign IRQ's, so it's up to the operating system. All of these are put on IRQ 9 and I'm not sure how to change this. I'm using the 2.4.22 kernel.

I know you can add "exclude irq x" to /etc/pcmcia/config.opts. You can also change ports and memory windows. If it helps...
If you are using the PCMCIA module that comes with the kernel, try the PCMCIA module from pcmcia-cs (disable PCMCIA support in the kernel). The kernel module causes a hardware conflict in my computer.
