Note on /usr/X11R6/lib -- on my RH9 system /usr/lib/X11 links to /usr/X11R6/lib, so missing files there are not entirely surprising -- even if just the link missing rpm may detect a problem and thus indicate the missing file. I concur with the advice above to identify the rpm's with missing files and force their installation. Even if you have to step backwards a version (if you have updated) it should probably be OK, just re-update when done.

Question up2date-gnome

I am new to linux. I accidentally deleted up2date-gnome. What do I need to do to get it back?

install up2date-gnome rpm

rpm --force -iv filename.rpm

Be sure you install the same version you have and then you can update if you need to. You need to update up2date and up2date-gnome at the same time.


rpm -Uv up2date*




In a case like this a new thread should be started. This is more specific than the original thread.
