Question AC3 Audio separation

I have an interesting dilemma. A have a 5.1 channel ac3 audio track. I'd like to have 6 separate mono audio files, probably PCM, but I don't really care. I'd like to accomplish this with FOSS software.

I've googled extensively and come up short, but then, I'm not a very good Googler. If anyone here can help me I'd be much obliged.

Have you tried Audacity? It does a lot of good stuff with audio, and might have a way to separate out a single channel from an audio file.
