About parallel port

Hi guys,
I wrote one application for accessing parallel port. But i want to run that application i requires a super user permission because i used ioperm to request parallel port which requires super user permission how can i get out of it i have used chown and given the root permission to the application but the chown also requires to be root. Then how can i solve this what i meant is that suppose if i changed the permission of application as root and if i transfer the executable to some other linux system can i run that application with out requiring super user permission.

I am having some trouble figuring out your question.

Do I understand correctly that you have the application running correctly on one system and you want to use it on a different Linux system and are wondering about ownership and permissions?

I would think the new system would require the same permissions as the original system.

If I am misunderstanding, please clarify.
