about filesysystems
Hi ,I am sreeram.Recently i have faced one interview question,

Question: What happened when the root(/) filesystem gets full?

Nothing much, directly. However, anything that tries to write files to the root partition will not be able to do so. How catastrophic this will be depends on what all is mounted under the root filesystem and what is mounted on other partitions. If, for example, /tmp is on the root partition, temp files won't be able to be created or written, which will cause problems for software that depend on them. In general, filling up the root filesystem is a bad thing (TM).
