Well the 3D accelleration is working anyways, I can tell after running Tux Racer! Very crisp and smooth! But is there a possibility that I can get my nVidia card going with my new kernel?

The new kernel has USB MIDI support and I own a USM MIDI keyboard ... is there any way I can get the drivers working for the newer kernel?

thank guys,

using this newsgroup i got my nvidia geforce 4200 running on redhat 8.0.
hw: dell dimension 8200

additional hints my system required (in tcsh):

setenv CC gcc
setenv IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH 1

obviously the second suggestion here is a little dangerous but it was
complaining about different variations of gcc 3.2 so i took the chance.
all seems fine after 24 hours.... even power save works now.

i couldn't get the src.rpm's to work so i used the tar.gz
