A small OpenMosix cluster experiment

hi,
i have an old pentium iii 450mhz gateway and an ageing P4 dell dimension that will be replaced soon. as an experiment, i would like to try setting up a small linux cluster out of those two at first, then maybe others later.

i have heard of openmosix, and how easy it is to set up, but i would like to know the following:
can openmosix be used with any linux distro or os it an OS in its own right?
can any program run on an openmosix setup?
any other advice to a newcomer to this sort of thing

thanks in advance

From the official website:

Quote:
The openMosix Project has officially closed as of March 1, 2008.
While you can still get the archived stuff it'd be reasonably dated. I'm not sure what is out there that is the best replacement though

Thanks for that-new question though
does Rocks do the same thing? and apparently LinuxPMI is based on openmosix 2.6 but the site is very loose on what it does-it says it allows you to migrate processes to another machine, but is it automatic like open MOSIX 2.4?

and can you use openmosix 2.4, 2.6 , rock , linuxPMI like a normal linux OS?
