A question on encrypted usb sticks

Hi!
I would like to install debian lenny on my 4GB usb pen drive , root encrypted to boot it on any pc i stick to .
My question is :
I'm going to encrypt my usb pen by cryptsetup and make my new device in local /dev/mapper/ dir and call it , let's say , /dev/mapper/cryptfs . whenever i go to an another pc , cryptfs is going to be left behind on the pc where it was born and i'm not going to carry any encrypted usb pen with me , is that correct ? thanks for the attention ....

What's the point of encrypting root?
Surely you only need to encrypt your sensitive data...
