Hey. I've got an HP Officejet 7310 All-in-One, which is basically a network printer/scanner/copier/fax machine. And I need to know what the best distro to use would be to use this printer. and what I'm ultimately trying to accomplish is making a print server, and maybe have this printer on the server. or i at least need to know where i can get drivers for it, or something to make it work in linux.

Any distro should work fine. Just need cups server running and the HPLIP drivers for HP class printers to use the print, scan, and fax features. Currently using a Photosmart P3310 and works very well. All HP printers I have used over the years have worked under linux either built in or use of HPLIP or HPOJ drivers.
I'm new to linux but I was dedicated somehow to solve the following problem:
given a special linux distributtion (for a local hungarian parish), an hp psc 1610.
These are connected via USB. The printer seems to be installed on the computer and seems to be functional. So I can print a test page directly from the printer BUT not from the computer.
No error message. The task is added to the printing tasks, but nothing happens. (A little flash sign appeares on a document sign.)
What shoould be my first step?
Thank you in advance, and sorry for my novicizm.
