I have two questions that I need to know about resolutions in linux. Both are kind of stupid, but here goes:

First,
How do I change the default screen-res in X for a specific user? I want a higher res, but other people who use my system like theirs lower.

Second,
Is there a way to change how large the letters appear at the console? Mine are huge and it bugs me a lot.

You could try writing a personal startup script - a small program that runs when a specific user logs in. Set the default resolution low so that the 'other users' are kept happy, and have the script file run when you log in. I'm not sure how to do this myself :D, but if you post a question in the programming forum, you should get some good advice.

As for the text size in the console: If you're running Mandrake, try running the terminal instead. There is a menu for text size, keyboard layout, text/background colours, etc. Very useful!
