2.6.11 kernel w/ framebuffering

I'm running a Slackware 10.1 box.

I've decided to try the 2.6.11 kernel and for the life of me I cannot get frame buffering to work. I want to see that cute penguin when i boot my new kernel damnit! :-)

Here's the important bit out of my .config

CONFIG_FB=y
CONFIG_FB_MODE_HELPERS=y
# CONFIG_FB_TILEBLITTING is not set
# CONFIG_FB_CIRRUS is not set

# CONFIG_FB_ASILIANT is not set
# CONFIG_FB_IMSTT is not set

# CONFIG_FB_ATY128 is not set
# CONFIG_FB_ATY is not set
# CONFIG_FB_SAVAGE is not set
# CONFIG_FB_SIS is not set
# CONFIG_FB_NEOMAGIC is not set
# CONFIG_FB_KYRO is not set
# CONFIG_FB_3DFX is not set
# CONFIG_FB_VOODOO1 is not set
# CONFIG_FB_TRIDENT is not set
# CONFIG_FB_VIRTUAL is not set

#
# Console display driver support
#
CONFIG_VGA_CONSOLE=y
# CONFIG_MDA_CONSOLE is not set
CONFIG_DUMMY_CONSOLE=y
CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE=m
# CONFIG_FONTS is not set
CONFIG_FONT_8x8=y
CONFIG_FONT_8x16=y

#
# Logo configuration
#
# CONFIG_LOGO is not set
# CONFIG_BACKLIGHT_LCD_SUPPORT is not set

If you wish you can view the whole thing here: http://beyesh.dhs.org/config.txt

Also, my lilo.conf has some framebuffering mentioned in it as well could that be part of the problem? for reference: http://beyesh.dhs.org/lilo.txt

Hope this is the right forum....TIA.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
