2.4.20-pre2 framebuffer / cpu architectur 'problem'

Hello!

I compiled 2.4.20-pre2 with i386 as the cpu architectur and it would not boot. But when I compiled it for PentiumIII/Coppermine it booted just fine altthough it didnt seem to recognize the vga=773 in lilo when booting. My question is, how can I get the framebuffer working in pre2? ( It works great in pre1 ).
I use Slackware8.1 and gcc 2.5.93.

I would guess in the (I think) "Character Devices" section, the second option down asks if you want to have the "frame buffer" option at boot. I am not sure, I am just doing this from memory, so sorry if that is the wrong place, but hopefully will at least get you on the correct track.

And the i386 problem, that is strange.

Yeh, it was quite strange

The framebuffer just doesnt work, as if i boot compile and boot pre1 with the same config file it works
