10.10 Computer Pauses Unless In Use

Hello, I have sort of an odd problem that I havent ever come across. My computer "Pauses" unless keys are pressed, and it also works if the mouse is moving or there is a video playing in the background.

It freezes during startup unless I press keys, at which time it starts going again, as well, Transmission Torrents drop to 0 upload and download and my clock stops moving if I dont move the mouse/press keys/have a video running. It even stops streaming media to XBMC on my Apple TV if I dont provide some interaction/video.

I have to have video playing in the background 24/7 for my clock to work and my torrents to run... I have already disabled drive spindown, I cant find any other fixes...

any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

The first thing that comes to mind is to check your settings for screensaver. How long does the computer have to be idle before the computer goes to sleep?
