'ls' failing in specific directory
When I list the files in my home directory, it just sits at the prompt, showing nothing, and I have to kill the process. However, I can list every other directory I've tried, from / on up (that I'm allowed to that is), including subdirectories in the user's home directory! When I list the files of that same home directory as root, it shows just fine. I have checked the permissions of the user's home directory, and looked at the permissions of every single file in their directory, including hidden files and directories. It is all owned by the user and his group.
This happened litterally out of nowhere. It was like one moment everything was great, now it is a huge hassle because things like Rox or any dialog box that lists the contents of the directory fail to work. This system was built and ran fine all summer, and this happened sometime last week.
If anyone has seen this occur, I would greatly appreciate some guidance. Thanks a lot.
