[Ubuntu]Media in Card Reader is not auto mounted

Hi all,
I have a HTPC with a cardreader (Silverstone LC16M). The HTPC is running a minimal version of Ubuntu 10.04 with XBMC on top. I would like to have media which I insert in my cardreader available in XBMC, but any media I insert isn't mounted in Ubuntu. I can mount them manually, so the cardreader is working fine, but obviously to have them available in XBMC I need Ubuntu to mount the media automatically. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

You can install "autofs5" package and configure automatic mount in file "/etc/auto.master".

Thanks. I've looked into autofs, but to be honest I don't really get how I should set this up. The media I put in my cardreader will end up being available under /dev/sdb1 - /dev/sdg1. If no media is inserted the devices won't be available (only /dev/sdb - /dev/sdg are availble). Could you maybe give a hint how to put that in one of the autofs config files?

Maybe better solution for you will be using package "usbmount". It will automatically mount inserted card or pendrive in /media/usb1, /media/usb2 and so on.

Thanks. Tried usbmount. From the desciption it really seems it should work, but on my system for some reason it doesn't work. I'm actually thinking it's something with my system which will go away once I update to a more recent Ubuntu version (I might wait till 12.04 though).
