Wine Wont Run App.

I am wondering if anyone else here is having this problem.

Using wine, if I download a game (.exe), and run it, it runs fine. If at the end, it says, do you want to run (application), if I say yes, it opens. But, after I have exited from the install, say, I want to play the game later. I come back, go to the terminal (in this example I will use a game), and type in wine C:\\Tribes\\tribes.exe It just sits at that blinking cursor, forever, and never even says an error. No, it is not just this particular game / app, I have tried with Winamp too. Also, it works having the installer start it, so it is not a problem with the game or app itself, but, I think, with Wine. Anybody else have this problem, is there a patch to fix it?

Wine doesn't work with every program out there, not even close. It's too difficult to implement the entire Windows API in linux when so much of it is closed. Running all Windows apps in linux is stupid anyway, if you want to run Windows programs then use Windows. Tribes 2 has a native linux version and Legends is very similar to Tribes 1. Instead of Winamp use BMP (Beep Media Player).

Not sure, I just typed "play tribes on linux" into Google and got a bunch of hits. It's not free, the linux client will just come with the executable and some language files, you'll need to get the textures and level data of a real Tribes 2 CD.
