ok..im running slackware 9.1 with the 2.6.1 kernel.
i installed wine and it works with minor errors...on old games. any of the newer games that use DirectX...maybe version 6 and up wont work at all. i installed Command And Conquer: Red Alert and it works great. during installation it asked to install DirectX 3.0 sound and video drivers, and i clicked no. when i tried yes, the installation crashed. now, im a C&C freak, so when i tried to install tiberian sun, crashed again because of directX. WHY ME??!??!

if anyone knows how to get DirectX games working (properly) in wine (not wineX) please let me know. also any howtos or websites that have wine forums would be nice.
