Why will this work in a terminal, but not when I click on it?


So I downloaded the game red eclipse I trying clicking on the shell script, but it would not run. But when I ran it in a terminal using exec it worked fine. Why is this?

please open a terminal in the folder containing the script and type

ls -la
and post the output.

Are you running it as root from terminal by any chance?

no, the shell script is executable.
maybe your file manager just doesn't do it properly.
what happens when you use the command line

(no exec)?

post the output please.

What do you mean by "clicking on the shell script"? Do you mean you double-click it or single-click?
