I would like to see the following:
"Prince of Persia: Warrior Within"
"Need for Speed Underground 2"
"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"
"Half-Life 2"
"Metal Gear Solid 3: snake Eater"
Just to let you all know, I am working on getting MSFS2004, Joint Ops, and Blackhawk Down to work. I would appreciate any assistance with understanding some of the DirectX and DirectX Emulators. Please feel free to e-mail me at cpclements@cox.net
can you use the orginal c&c now on linux i love playing it but dual boot with xp and that does not even run it so be cool if that could be ported/ emulated so far i can only play it on my p166mmx laptop because dos box does not support it o well....
I'm not really gamer. I like programing with Linux and i think it was maybe for this at first.
But if i should pick game what i like, it will be all parts of Silent hill(1-4), final fantasy, and Gothic 2!! And for that dudes what want to play Baldurs Gate i have great news it's running from other emulator(CEDEGA)
But more than every thing i want to see a really good emulator.

Cedega and/or Wine are NOT emulators... They rather are implementations of the Win32 API in Linux, using X as the backend. Somethings must use wrapper-like implementations, like the DirectX API, which has to be translated on-the-fly to OpenGL and other native calls. I think the transgaming guys in terms of implementation based off what the original Wine dudes did, have done a very good job. However I think that having these kinds of programs can actually be a double edged sword in terms that it allows us to play legacy games and run Win32 applications (maybe not at 100% functinality, but at least very near that), but this could also be a problem for native applications in terms that developers will start ensuring transgaming's cedega compatibility rather than making native ports of the games (look at WoW). This in the end is agains the very principles of the phylosophy behind Linux: freedom, it will restrict us to use a program that's NOT free (though has a free [not payed] version). Don't get me wrong I use Cedega and even have an account with Transgaming, but I feel rather guilty of that, because I'm contributing on this situation.
I'd like to have halflife 1 and 2 ported.. I switched to linux today cause my windows fucked up so i downloaded mandrake.. Gaming is the thing i'll miss most..

personally i would like to see a good version of tick tack toe... with like powerful 2 bit graphics.. perhaps trogdor would be the computer you'd play against in single player mode
Only a few games out right now I'd like to see ported to Linux. "The Battle for Middle Earth," "City of Heros," and "Half Life 2".
The game I'm looking foreward to the most is "Middle Earth Online", but they've already come right out and said that they just don't think there's enough of a Market for Non Windows/Mac users (which leaves you with....uh...Linux?) Bummer...
this thread has no more sence why ported games that suks i think is that we player programmers and disgener 3d mod... we can make our onw games for us Linux users than asking for those fuckers to port a DirectX based games it' is a such lose of time!!!!!
ALL of the Star Wars and LucasArts games...
>>>Galactic Battlegrounds, Jedi Knight series, Knights of the Old Republic series, and so on and so forth...
ANY realtime strategy game.
>>>Empire Earth, Battlezone, Star Trek Armada and any other game with cool weapons and big explosions.
Star Trek games.
>>>Armada series, Bridge Commander and the Starfleet Command series.
Thinkerish games.
>>>The Myst series, Crystal Gate, Risk 2 (and other board games) (or is it key?) but not those gimmicky puzzle games!
Action games
>>>Mechwarrior series, Descent series, Heavy Gear series, Freespace 2 and whatever else I might have forgotten.
THE DEMAND IS REAL, AND IT STARTED WITH UNIX.
The first hardcore gamers were the programmers, and back in the day, if you programmed, you did it on a unix box. That still stands today, not like it once was, but it is real. All I need is my games, and I can forever remove windows from my computer!!! Whoooo!
