i have installed ut2004 and at the end it said all was installed perfectly , then i start up a konsole and type ut2004, it pops up a splash screen and then sends back this message:

Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.GameEngine' in configuration file

and then closes!

I did an installation in windoze and it works fine, so i can put aside the idea that its the disks(i think). I have searched the net but nowhere is there a solution or even a explanation of this error message.

I reall y don't want to start up windoze just to play my favourite game, so far i havent needed it for at least 4 months now!

So please help a Linux enthusiast not go to the dark side just to play his fav game

well i solved my problem. All i had to do was delete my "user.ini" and "ut2004.ini" files in my hidden ".UT2004" folder in my "/home" folder.

Its runs perfectly fine now, just there isn't any sound at all. In the log file it says "sound initialisation failed". BUt that i'm sure can be fixed.

So if anyone can help with that problem please?

(yes!! No need to start up windoze to play UT2004 anymore!!!)

drastical solution, try to delete this folder fully, max that u are loosing is your keyboard settings, name settings and etc, this should help You...
