UT2004 Retail + linux + $20 rebate = I bought it!

So I bought my copy of Unreal Tournament 2004 today from eBgames here in Northern California. I don't know if this is a storewide promotion, but if you buy UT2004 from now until April 1, you will get a $20 mail-in rebate! $39.99 - $20 rebate = $19.99! Plus the manufacture (EPIC? ATARI?) is giving a $10 rebate if you own UT2003! So it could potentially bring it down to $9.99.

I know people have been saying to buy it on tuxgames.com, but at this price you can't go wrong. Plus someone else said on this forum said that once you connect to the master server, they'll know if you're using LInux or Windows XP so it'll count appropriately regardless of where you buy it from? Don't know if that's true, though.

Also, the linux installer is in Disc 1, even though it says it's for Windows 98/XP.
I'm playing the game under Mandrake 9.1 with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro with no problems. Some of the servers lag, but I have no control over that.

Just thought I'd share with you all!

I've been playing the demo and I'd say it's worth the $20 even if it is just a MOD version of UT2k3.

Are all 6 disks required for a basic install? I'm running out of HDD space and if thats the case I may just have to decide what to get rid of.

thanks for clearing that up for me.

but- i beleive its a gift voucher, not a rebate. this may or may not matter to some people.

I also heard that it inclues the 2003 maps, so if you are at a lan aprty you can play on a 2003 server!!!!!

So, in a nutshell; ut2k4- plays on win and lin, under 40 bucks, includes 'technically' ut2k3. Sounds like a good investment
