You mean you only got that error after installing a patch?

Well...My game was working fine however I could not play online as it said I needed the latest patch to play the game. I then downloaded the ECE Upgrade and also the 3369 Linux patch. Both installed at the same time so I am not sure which did the breakage but now the game does not work and you see the error I am getting. But yes, the game worked perfect pre ECE and Patch. I have since un-installed the game sucessfully but would like to find out what I am doing wrong. I need the patch and know it is not rocket science to get it going but every time I have followed suggestions (see above) - it breaks.

If I remember right you should install the ECE bonus packs first and then the 3369 patch. If you did that in that order and it still won't start I don't know.

You could try asking at unrealadmin.org - they have many knowledgable people there.

Yup - I did noy want the ECE Pack but the patch required it before the patch so I did them in that order...

Well I can only suggest you to look for the libstdc++.so.5 library and corresponding packages.
I have never had such error before, and actually that file is in my system:
Code:
 ~> ls -l /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5*
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root     18 2006-03-13 11:41 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 -> libstdc++.so.5.0.7
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 732224 2005-07-08 16:54 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.7
I can't properly guide you on how to track down a file for Debian packaging

libstdc++ is part of c++ and it should already be there. Have you tried to locate it?
