UT2004 freezes quite a bit REALLY ANNOYING!


It is usually always freezing when a map loads, its crazy, its almost every other time i load a new map, I have to do a hardboot. Can anyone help? thanks.

Is it freezing not only in UT2004, but whenever you do a CPU-intensive task (ie, compile stuff)? If so, you have cooling problems.

Nope, only UT, specifically when it loads a map.

Delete your ut2k4.ini (found in /home/user/.ut2k4 i think). Fixed it for me.

I didn't find that file in the above directory, but I think I may have found this in:

/home/myuser/.ut2004/System

file is "ut2004.ini"

Go ahead and delete it? Or is that file critical, something different?

Yeah thats the folder, its fine to delete it, a new one will be made when you start ut2k4. But if you're worried about it (which you shouldn't be) then just make a backup of it
