Smile UnrealTournament 436 UnrealED 2.0 Mouse Focus on Viewports

I can play the game UnrealTournament (1999 version). Works great. (Laptop and Desktop)
Wanted to design a UT Map and brought up the Unreal Editor 2.0. (Bundled with Game CD)
The Editor comes up without error and appears to work.
I can click on buttons and move about with ONE exception:

I can not get the mouse to focus on the viewports itself.
I attempt to move the camera or just move the view field and nothing happens.
The mouse should lock onto the grid and move accordingly. (Mouse moves, grid does not)

Does anyone know of a patch or fix?
UnrealTournament Version Patched to 436. Wine 1.6.2 and winetricks. Fully updated Linux Mint 18.1

Any advise or help pleaase? Thanks in advance...

ps - I have also tried this on my desktop with same loads and versions...
