Tribes 2 Connection Challenge Error (Class B IP Address)

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hey guys, yet another problem with my computer.

Well, here's the total explanation.
Ok, I finally got my Tribes 2 game working with Linux fine... But, when I try to play a LAN game (hosted within my home network), it messed up when trying to join from another computer in my home network. The error message follows.
Code:
Connection Challenge Error. Please try another server. Code: (Cannot join a LAN server with no matching class B IP address).
But, when joining an online server, also hosted and joined within my network, it works correctly.

Below is a clip of the server text, when I tried to join LAN.
Code:
TRICON 2: ------------------ Tricon 2 Load Sequence Complete ------------------
TRICON 2: ---------------------------------------------------------------------
TRICON 2:
TRICON 2:
Checking IP address (10.0.0.4) for LAN compliance
 - Local IP address (127.0.0.1)
I think the problem may exist because Linux thinks that only computers within 127.x.x.x can join, when really it should be 10.x.x.x
Even if that is the case, how would I go about fixing it? Setting a default gateway? (I have not done that, for I do not have to, and I use a switch and not router/gateway).

I will try setting the default gateway, and report back later. Thanks for the help!

{edit} Ok, setting the default gateway didn't work. Any suggestions?

{Edit} Now instead of showing 127.0.0.1, it shows my Public IP.

127.0.0.1 is reserved as your loop back. It should freak out there. your local IP should be something like 192.168.1.100 or something similar. what does ifconfig say? what is your subnet mask? is it the same on all computers that you are trying to play from?

OK, I know it's been forever since I posted to this thread, but I fixed the problem. In /etc/hosts I just replaced 127.0.0.1 with my actual LAN IP... like mentioned in the post above. Just thought I'd update this thread with the info for any future visitors.
