STEAM games- missing text

i recently got steam on ubuntu (steam is the program that manages games like half-life and counter-strike) and everything works...... exept the text. there are no words anywhere. were do i get the font and where do i put it? or what else am i supposed to do?

Not sure which font it uses, but if you copy Arial.ttf, Tahoma.ttf and Verdana.ttf from the fonts dir on a working Windows install you should be right.

For Steam to work you need tahoma.ttf you'll need to grab it from a windows box or find a suitable substitute.

You can find lots of good information about running Steam in wine at this location:

The Appdb at Wine HQ usually has the best information about getting a game running. Find the application in the database and then click on a version to get the info, try it out... play games.
