does it work ?

It installs fine but when I run it and try to logon I get:

Could not connect to steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your internet connection, or with the steam network. . .

I'm running Slackware 10, WineX CVS as of early this week and CS 1.5 works great. . .

Do I have to have IE6 up and running first? Because if that's the case I'm screwed cos' I haven't been able to get that installed to save my life!
