Question Starting 3D Games Causes X To Restart

Hello,
I have just installed my Nvidia drivers, and went ahead and installed Unreal Tournament 2004. I tried to start it up, and was taken to a split-second view of a terminal login screen, and then the Fedora Core 6 login screen. I assume that this means X server has restarted. I'm assuming this has something to do with the setup of my xorg.conf... although I'm not sure what I can do. The same thing happens with Doom 3. Help please!
Thanks.

Fedora Core 6

Hmmm... try running glxinfo | grep direct and make sure direct rendering is working.

Hmm, I tried running ut2004 in Windowed mode, and it worked! It seems that whenever something tries to change the resolution of my screen, X restarts. Any ideas why this might be? Any suggestions?

Its a prob with the NVidia drivers. Changing to fullscreen was broken in the last version (yours by the sound of it) Try installing them again... the official NVidia ones that is, not the livna one.

And yeah, btw, I've got the same card as you, so it definately is that.

I had to install the 9631 drivers to get that to stop.
