I have the same trouble as I couldnt install the game on debian I installed it under windoze and then copied it over to a Linux partition and as I use the latest Kde I could just shift the toolbar over to the left so that was sorted. But I cannot get the sound to work I have tried useing the killartsd command as this has solved the problem with other things but this time it hasn`t
My Spec is a shuttle itx but pass on any real details about it I think its a nividia sound chip on board the itx
Hey, I am trying to get StarCraft: Brood war to work on suse 9.2 pro too. I installed it with cedega. In fact, the 1.04 version works perfectly but 1.11b freezes in the loading screen, anyone got it working?
I can't get cedega to work with my Starcraft Broodwar either with the 1.11b patch. I did get wine to work with it, but there's a BIG speed difference when you compare to it running nativily. Have you tried using wine with it yet?
Yeah, I've run the starcraft installation by cedega using wine and it works perfectly, just some graphical issues in battle.net and when joining games, but no more. Is your computer too old, maybe?
Originally posted by tsphan what are you using to run starcraft, wine or cedega?
I use Gentoo now and got my Radeon card to work. It stopped working though when I compiled a new kernel :-\. . .
When I posted when I was using SuSE 9.2 Pro I was using wine which came with the distro.
I use Cedega now.
I wasn't able to get anything to run. Anything that required graphics acceleration wasn't working for me.
From what I know ATI doens't support my card. My friend has an X800 XT PCI-E, and I am going to try to switch him over to Gentoo (or something Linux based). I'll post if it works on his.
When I buy my Nvidia I'll post about that too.
