Setting SDL up (sound in games)
Lately I fired up one or two games on Zenwalk and found out that I can only hear sound when I plug my headphones into my sound card. However, my computer is connected to my Dolby Digital/DTS receiver via a single optical cable, connected to the S/PDIF of my onboard sound card. Generally this is working just fine (read: I have sound and can listen to music and watch DVDs). But how do I tell libSDL to use the S/PDIF (hw:0,2) of my sound card? (I read something about an AUDIODEV=hw:1,0 syntax on DOSBox - where can I set that up?).
Any help appreciated.
Okay, I finally solved the problem for some of my applications/games. At least, when I define the audio driver via the SDL variable "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa" I have sound in DosBox and ScummVM. However, when I try to fire up the Robin Hood demo with this variable, the demo crashes.
