searching for my dream game

I am looking for a (preferably MMO) game that plays like a RTT and an RPG and is an actual world and not just a bunch of levels that you beat once and then are done with. In this game you create a unit and take it on some newbie missions/quests to earn some cash. Then you can use that cash to build/buy a new unit or upgrade/better equip your current unit. You can continue to buy/building new units until you have up to 40ish units. Each unit will gain experience and levels the more they are used and if a unit is killed you can go get it resurrected or at higher levels do it your self.

does any one know where I can find a game like this?

well... it's windows based, and doesn't have groups, but as far as just wandering around in a HUGE game world doing random things -- you see morrowind? i played that game forever not too long ago... i have yet to see the next thing come out that captivated me like that...

Yeah I played that on the xbox and the character development and world are the kind of thing I want but I enjoy rtt games more then that type of game play but I'm tired of just throwing general unchangeable units at the enemy's until the mission is won. The closest game to what I want that I have played is the original Ground Control but the units didn't advance much. Sure you could get more powerful units but there wasn't much individuality to the units which is what I want.

Well what about the online game Runescape? Go to runescape.com to play it if you want.

Neverwinter Nights is pretty good. No subscription and decent community. 3rd person only, normally though, and takes some getting used to.

Lately I have been enjoying a game called Vendetta. It's an MMO based in space, you are a pilot of a ship. It's has pretty basic game play: combat, commerce and mining. Huge potential, though. Good leveling tempo, keeps things interesting. Just hard enough to make you want to give it another shot.

See ya there, same name as here hehe
