running a game in a new graphical console?
 

Hi!

Maybe someone out there can help me out with this

I would like to run a game, lets say quake3, on a new graphical console so i can go back to X and foward to Quake using <Ctrl><Alt><F7> and <Ctrl><Alt><F8>
I used to do this a long time ago and cant remember the commands...

From one of the virtual terminals (if that's what they're called, I dunno. You know? The things you get to by pressing alt+ctrl+f1-6) run this command:

startx -- :2

Then you have started a new display, which will probably be accessible by alt+ctrl+f8.
