Return to Castle Wolfenstein Problem

I'm currently running Mandrake Linux 10.0, and I have found that it is possible to run wolfenstein without any emulation on linux. I have installed RtCW retail and have patched it with the linux patch appropriate to the versoin that I own, and I have also copied the necessary pk3 files from a windows installation. I have two problems regarding the game which could quite be related. First of all, when I attempt to run the game, I am able to enter it without so much trouble. But when I want to start myself a new game (i have no old ones so I don't know if the problem is strictly when starting a new game or when starting any game), the first loading page which is the little cutscene never finishes loading, and the entire systems locks to the point where I must reboot using the reboot button. Now the second problem, is that there is no sound. Now my computer uses a cheap sound card. It is a SIS 7012 pci audio accelerator. Is the problem fixable? And if yes, how is it done?

P.S.: I'm a newbie at linux, ans thus my knowledge is very limited when it comes to problem solving. I found some ALSA drivers which were suggested to install. Yet I don't know how to install those. There is something related to rebuilding a kernel, but I have no clue of the procedure using shell commands. Desperately needs help here!!!
