Resolution in UT2004

Alright then,

I got my UT2004 installed without a problem, played a quick death match to ensure that opengl was also working.. everythings good thus far.. I went to set the resolution to 1024 X 768, but sadly thats not an option in UT2004..

the only resolution it can run currently is 800 X 600..

my linux desktop is currently running at 1024 X 768 and that resolution shows up when i go into my desktops display settings under KDE.. any ideas to remedy this small problem?

ok, checking over the readme which I forgot was there.. I found this entry..

heres a direct copy + paste of my issue from the games readme..

Q: I get the following text on my console when I run the game:
Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Is this a problem?
A: No. This means you aren't using an X server from Xi Graphics.
That message means we're looking for the X11 extension they use to
change screen resolutions, and having a non-XiG X server, you
don't have it. THIS IS NOT A UT2004 BUG. It's not a bug at all.
Xlib prints that "error", but we handle it gracefully.

I get that error when I try to switch ut2004 from full screen to windowed mode through the settings menu inside the game.. also, i get only one resolution which is 800 X 600.. its looks mighty ugly on this monitor and isnt aligned properly..

is there a way I can rememdy this problem easily? or does this include installing a new x server? I'm currently running MEPIS 3.3
