Rainbow Six install woes....
I try installing Rainbow Six and it ends up giving me this error. I just downloaded Winex (cvs), and this was the first thing I tried to install.
Code:
bash-2.05b$ wine AutoRun.exe Code:
bash-2.05b$ wine SETUP.EXE Code:
bash-2.05b$ wine RainbowSix.exe The %HOME% location FreeType and fixme:xrender:X11DRV_XRender_Finalize Free cached glyphsets I'm guessing that the last one is holding up my installation, because that's the last line I get when I try to install Winzip as well. Does anyone see where something could be tripping up? I can't even get wine to run notepad right now, but that deserves its own thread. Any and all help appreciated. |
did you try regular wine?
PS: why would you want winzip when you got fileroller or ark? |

As to the wine part: I had wine installed before, but I uninstalled it right before I installed winex. wine opened notepad, at least, but winex can open things like installers I made for things like game mods, but won't open other things. It can run the Autorun for my Rainbow Six cd, but it can't do anything with any of the imbedded components(Well, MPlayer install opens up, but won't finish, I think it's because the site it is looking for is dead now, old online gaming community got overrun by Zone....) So I might try using regular wine again, but I need to find my Civilzation 2 disk before I remove winex. |
i think they compress them. they certainly uncompress them, but i would recommend using .tar.bz2 instead of .zip.
for the wine issue: i think theres a script somewhere that installs cvs winex in a way that it can co-exist with vanilla wine. dunno where it is, but maybe a google search at: http://google.com/linux will help? |
"${HOME}" instead og %HOME% in the wine config located in:
~/.transgaming/config ~/userwinex/config and ~/wine/config |
