Problems with warcraft and cedega help plz!!

When installing Warcraft III or The frozen by cedega or point2 play i received this error "No program start menu found" i found in one page that the solution was add a key in the registry this one:

Code:
[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Shell Folders] 1119016964
"Desktop"="C:\\WINDOWS\\Desktop"
"Programs"="C:\\WINDOWS\\Start Menu\\Programs"
but this solution isn`t complete cuz the only way to install it is via command line, no point2play.

Anyway via command line it gives me also this error with the solution i have, at the end of the installation when it's creating the files in desktop the installer tells that:

Code:
Setup was unable to create the following link:
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.lnk
Error 0x00000006: Invalid handle
(C:\temp\020606lockit\Installer\Source\LinkUndo.cpp:181)

Setup was unable to create the following link:
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III\Warcraft III World Editor.lnk
Error 0x00000006: Invalid handle
(C:\temp\020606lockit\Installer\Source\LinkUndo.cpp:181)

Setup was unable to create the following link:
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III\Warcraft III Readme.lnk
Error 0x00000006: Invalid handle
(C:\temp\020606lockit\Installer\Source\LinkUndo.cpp:181)

Setup was unable to create the following link:
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Warcraft III\Warcraft III Uninstall.lnk
Error 0x00000006: Invalid handle
(C:\temp\020606lockit\Installer\Source\LinkUndo.cpp:181)
after this error the installation finish but when i try to apply the patch it returns me this error, that i believe that is related with the past one:
Code:
ERROR: unable to execute command 'C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\BNUpdate'
Child process has not completed
RESULT: Prepatch failed
I am using a laptop with Gentoo kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r9, my video card is nvidia geforce 6800

thank you for any help

Why cant you add the registry key manually on the commandline, and then point2play the game in?

If you dont get it working, you could allways use good'ol Wine.. I just had a warcraft marathon with wine, works perfeect except for the movies and campaign menu (no problem if you have frinds who lend save files)

But imo the problem youre having should go away once you actually add the registry key you mentioned. I have no idea where cedega keeps the wine registry, but Im sure youll find it.. (;

edit: oh yeah, also make sure the directory structure for the start menu exists..

I already add this line to registry, the registry of cedega is in ~/.transgaming/users_reg and in ~/.transgaming/system_reg but the problems is that i believe that i need another because it can't create anything in the desktop folder so the installation isn't really complete although i can play in offline mode, when i try to update warcraft it returns me the last error i posted

Well, all you suffwered from the initial errors was the loss of shortcuts, so those arnt the problem. I havnt tried to run the updater, but when I applied the patch myself (ran the downloaded patch file) it worked perfectly. Worth a try? (:
