I spent about an hour writing up a post to detail this problem, then when I went to post, got an error that I did not have an intro, and lost everything.
Long and short is if you want to install daimonin client on a linux box, you have to compile it. To compile it you need SDL. When you attempt to compile SDL you get an error:
checking for esd-config... no
checking for ESD - version >= 0.2.8... no
*** The esd-config script installed by ESD could not be found
*** If ESD was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the ESD_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to esd-config.
Searching my machine, I am unable to find esd-config anywhere.
I am unable to find anywhere I can download ESD. Searches of Source Forge give me programs that use ESD, but not the ESD code itself.
Running Ubuntu 6.06. Searching Ubuntu gives me nothing.
Thanks for the feedback. I think I may try both options. It's about time I started making things work from the ground up. I'll post to let people know how it goes.
