Problem with sound (i think) in enemy territory

Hi Folks

I'm running Mandrake 9.2 and have a Geforce 3 card and a SB Live. I have the Nvidia drivers installed (get about 4000 in glxgears) and my sound works fine on the desktop, in xmms/xine/mplayer and even Tux Racer. The problem I have is that when I try to run ET - I get a black screen and nothing else. The black screen only takes up the top left of the screen (i.e. if fills the whole screen but I can scroll the screen to see the rest of the desktop) and if I look at the terminal I can see the last message is that the sound is being initialised.

Any suggestions?

Got it sorted.

I switched from using ALSA to OSS and now everything works with sound and ET also runs (with sound)

Thanks for the input anyway
