No sound in Enemy Territory!

Hey all,

Well I installed ET a few days ago and I have just noticed that I have no sound. I have looked around but I have no idea where or what to do to see how I can fix this. My sound works for everything else but ET.

If anybody could help, I would appreciate it.

Need to post more info champ otherwise there's no way anyone is going to be able to help.

Run et from a terminal and check the output for any obvious looking errors. Are you using ALSA sound drivers or what?

Yeah I guess I need more info.
I have a onboard soundcard that is a intel something. I am using alsa. I have ran just et in a terminal but I don't get any sound errors, I only get errors to missing files for maps.

Like is the a config file I can edit or something?

If you need more info, please ask

try reinstalling drivers. updating all related components on your system

edit: bit late. oops
what missing files. do they look like they could be configuration or sound card setup files?
post the output of et if it isnt too long

Well I re-compiled the driver and just added support for my soundcard in the kernel, so reinstall I would only have to recompile the kernel and I have done that since I started playing ET with still no sound.

The files that are missing in ET are files for the GUI like it will be something like "HUD_binocs" nothing to do with sound. I can post the et log but it has nothing about sound or snd or also or anything that I see

try this as root :

echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
