new to game programming


hi,
I am currently learning game programming on Linux .I know C++ programming.
I would like to writte a game program using c++.Please could you guide me How to start writing games.

I really suck so first, if its just characters it'll be reall easy.
second ,go into console and use vi
just type vi.
