Native Linux Games list
 

Seeing as how many people come to this forum in particular and ask about native linux games I think it would be nice to have a sticky thread with a running list of games. I seem to hear about a new game every day, and as more and more are either ported or developed the list will expand. If an admin would be so kind as to sticky this thread please (if possible).

On to the list (in no particular order). Feel free to reply with any Native games you know about that I have failed to mention. Provide links whenever possible.

• FlightGear - OpenGL flight sim. Open source, and very well done.
  Foobillard - OpenGL billard game. Very realistic physics.
  racer - Racing sim.
  TORCS - The open racing car simulator
  FrozenBubble - Most addictive game I know
  BZFlag - Multiplayer 3D tank battle game
  Armagetron - Tron style 3D lightcycles game
  Neverball - 3D puzzle game (neverputt mini-golf found at the same page)
  NWN linux - Linux port of Neverwinter nights
  RTCW Linux - RTCW Linux port
  SNES9X - SNES Emulator for Linux
  Freeciv - Civilization clone for Linux
  VegaStrike - Space combat simulator
  CrimsonFields - Tacticle war game
  PrBoom - Doom port for Linux
  Nethack - Role Playing game
  NetHack - Falcon's eye - 3D wrapper for NetHack
  TuxRacer - Penguin with a need for speed
  Maelstrom - Ummm........blow up rocks and stuff.
  Cube - 3D multiplayer FPS (great lighting and very fast graphics engine)
  Planeshift - Very ambitious MMORPG based on the crystal space engine.
  Vendetta test - technology preview of a multiplayer space shoot-em-up
  America's Army - 3D military combat simulator
  Njam - Pacman like game

OK, obviously there are hundreds if not thousands of native games out there. This list only represents the ones that I personally know about, and that I have residing on my hard drive right now. Lets grow this list as much as we can. :)

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri -- unfortunately, Loki is no longer around but it'd be nice to see the code OpenSourced, or see a company continue this awesome game (another expansion pack)!

no port for halflife to AFAIK, but doom3 will have a linux native client as soon as it is released. YAY :)
