most important software to install a program
 

hi!
i have installed SuSe linux 9 kde 3.1 (full installation) and want to install lmule. this programm requires wx windows. so i downloaded it (wxGTK) and wanted to install it. but that required gtk-config. i wanted to install gtk-config, which needed pkg-config. i installed pkg, but gtk-config stiill needed pkg-config.
help me, im a nub

i'm lost... it asked for pkg-config, so you installed an unrelated program, and it still wants pkg-config :confused:

pkgconfig is a configuration program itself, not a library of headers, i.e. a -devel package. gtk-config is part of the gtk-devel pacakge, which does NOT use pkgconfig at all, as pkgconfig is the framework that replaced the mass of something-config programs.
